SARAD virtual meeting on zoom platform with SARAD Executives and Advisors was held on 10th January 2021. This was a follow up discussion on the agenda discussed in the EC meeting at 11th SARCD at Pokhara.
As per the decision of the executive committee meeting held on 10th January 2021.
- SARAD secretariat was transferred to DI Skin Health & Referral Centre P Ltd (DISHARC), Golfutar -07, Budhanilkanth Marg, Kathmandu. Dr. Vijay Bahadur Rajbhandari, the SARAD Coordinator, and Prof Anil Kumar Jha, Executive Chairman, DISHARC also gave their consent for this.
- The formation of three subcommittees for proper academic activities of SARAD was discussed. Three Sub-committees were formed and their chairperson was also nominated. The chairpersons were requested to form the full subcommittee.
- The three SARAD sub-committees are:

“SARAD Scoop”
A. Goals and objective:
- To showcase the activities of SARAD to its members. To keep informed about upcomin activities of SARAD. A committee will be formed to accomplish the same. This committee is tasked with reviewing and editing the newsletter. The committee strives to seek out and develop content for the newsletter and seeks to increase participation from SARAD member.
B. Name:“SARAD Scoop”
C. Number of Issues
To be published biannually, on 1stJanuary and 1stJuly every year.
D. Editorial Committe
SARAD executive committee will also be the editorial committee of SARAD Scoop, along with an Editor who may or may not be from the executive committee. Hon. Secretary General will be the deputy editor and should collect required information from the representative country.
E. Editor
Selection of the editor: Editor will be selected by a committee comprising of the current President, immediate past president, vice president of the country to host the next SARCD and Secretary. Selection to be approved by executive committee which shall be ratified in AGBM. Term of the editor: Two years. It will be on rotational basis among SARAD countries and will change during AGBM. If there are no applicants from certain countries it will be passed on to next country. To begin with it will be from India. The rotating countries may not be from the same countries as President and Secretary Eligibility: Should be active members of SARAD with atleast 10yrs of experience in the field of dermatology. Past experience as editor of newsletter/journal of respective country is desirable. Duties and responsibilities of the editor:
1. To create an editorial board.
2. Determine publishing guidelines
3. Review content
4. To write editorials
5. To Manage budget for publications.
Status of the editor: Editor is to be considered as invited member of the executive committee.
He/she will be invited to all EC meetings and CC meetings.
F. Contents of the news letter
1. Presidential message
Should be published on the front page along with the photograph of the president SARAD branch. Should not exceed 300 words.
2. Secretary’s message
Published on the 1stor the 2ndpage along with the photograph of the honorary general secretary of SARAD Branch. Message should not exceed 150 words.
3. Treasurer’s report
Published along with the photograph of the Treasurer. A short message along with the latest balance sheet of SARAD branch to be published.
4. Activities of SARAD branch
- Minutes of AGBMs , CC and EC meets.
- List of executive committee members.
- Reports on all initiatives and important activities of SARAD branch.
5. Activity reports of SARAD representative countries
Request should be sent to all Secretaries of all representative countries for their activity reports to the honorary secretary, SARAD branch by 1stweek of December/June so that it gets published in the January/July issue.
6. Article from SARAD members
Article on prevailing and emergent social problems pertaining to dermatology in each country. Management guidelines, newer drug etc.
7. Major achievements of individual members
Any member who wish to get their achievements published should send the details of their achievements to the honorary secretary, SARAD branch by 1stweek of December/June so that it gets published in the January/July issue.
